hi all,
well what types of classicle music do people like?
must say i'm abit parcial to abit of holst and the planets, i do like that. I also like strous as well, the blue danube is my favorite as well. And i love loads of piano music to. so come on then guys and girls who likes what and why?
for me i find classicle music very expressive. it's why it goes so well in loads of sci-fi movies. and it's why they use the classicle style of music to. Star wars being the 1 i am thinking of here. for certain.
i also love to listen to classicle music when i'm playing certain types of pc game, especially in battle situations. Anybody on here ever played the elite games or the X games from egosoft for those that have any degree of site? well if you have then ride of the vlcuries and pieces like that are good for battle situations. so what do people like and why?
Beethoven Maria Callas lighter moments...hmm Vivaldi and/or Mozart and/or Strauss. But for sheer knock your socks off magnificence it has to be Mussorgsky's night on a bare mountain, or Mars from the planet suite.
yup love mars and night on the bare mountain. can't remember who did in the hall of the mountain king but i do like that as well.
That was Grieg. My taste is more for the dramatic program-type stuff like the Planets and Tchaikovski and Rachmoninoff and some Chopin and Gershwin. So yeah, mostly romantic period and later for me, although I like some Beethoven and Brahms. Unlike most classical music listeners I just can't get anything out of Mozart. I might like one or two excerpts, but a lot of his music reminds me of scenes in movies where you have the really rich stuffy people having some kind of pretentious cocktail party and Mozart's music is twittering away in the background. Hahahahahaha!
yeah especially the piano. funny that isn't it
Twittering twittering I'm appalled...sadly Labyrinth that was all too often the case for Mozart..what a waste.
mmmmmmm, meddi evil music...12th intervals...yummy.
Also Rennaissance music, particularly Madrigals. I just melt when i hear those harmonies. I Am completely in love with the baroche period. [really not sure how to spell that]. Hiden, Percelle, Scarlattti, Verdi, Handle, do i need to continue?
I just love anything with a vocal line that contains harmony. As for instruments, i can never get enough of strings. Violin, viola, cello and double bass...yum.
i've got tons of stuff like that. absolutely tons.
Hmm, for me it's definatly Piano music, especially romantic and later. Chopin, love his concertos. Classical is just sooo expressive, romantic, whatever.
I love everything from early music up to 20th century. Everything from, in no particular order, Lyst, Bach, Chopin, John Adams, Beethoven, Mozart, Stravinski, Satie, Anaudi, Racmaninoph, Chicovski, Peganini, Muller, and the list goes on. I also like a lot of film score music, especially solo piano work! Solo lute music as well as cello and piano or violin and piano can be very nice. If you want to hear some very interesting orchestral music, check out Frank Zappa's serious music... Sorry for some of the mis spellings!
I like classical music, my favourite period of composition has got to be the romantic period, stuff such as, Beethoven, in particular moonlight sonata, Rachmaninov, and other stuff, such as, Elgar, Holst, Vaughan Williams, Aron Copland, some J.S. Bach, Grieg, Satie, some Vivaldi, Gershwin, tschaikovsky, Rimpsky-korsikov, Philip Glass, John Williams, and the list goes on. It's mainly just bits and pieces of those composers that stick out for me.
